FAMILIES are being encouraged to keep moving this summer as part of the 10-Minute Shake Up campaign.
Hampshire County Council (HCC) is supporting the national initiative to help children reach the 60 minutes of activity they need every day during the school holidays.
Patricia Stallard, HCC’s executive member for public health, said: “Children love to run around, splash about in a swimming pool and ride their bikes. For them, being active is about having fun, but it also has a positive impact on self esteem and emotional well-being, as well as physical health. Families who sign up will find lots of ideas to keep them active and entertained during the long break.
Also, by visiting one of Hampshire’s country parks, children can get active outside whilst exploring lots of open spaces.”
