OFFICERS investigating a fatal collision on the A325 at Alice Holt Forest have made an arrest.

The 54-year-old man from Liss has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving, after it is alleged he failed to stop at the scene of last week’s fatal collision.

He has been bailed until May 5.

The collision on the A325 at Alice Holt Forest, close to the junction with Binsted Road, happened at 5.25pm on February 1, and involved a motorbike, a pedestrian and a car.

The 43-year-old female pedestrian from Surrey suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead on the way to hospital.

The road was closed for several hours.

Sergeant Rik Grant, from the serious collision investigation unit, said police followed several lines of enquiry when searching for the vehicle that is believed to have failed to stop and he urged any witnesses to come forward.

Anyone with information should call Sgt Grant on 101, quoting reference number 44170041190, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
